I was asked to do more Fashion Posts (I mean I guess I did start this blog as a fashionish blog) and I was also asked how I would dress down a fancier jacket. First off how perfect are both of those questions. And I received them in the same day so here we go..This is how basically how I would style down a nicer jacket! My look staple is basically white tee. Everything else come after. I think Gap has the best plain tees!
I think some brands market themselves to a great crowd but can fall off of others radar. Like this jacket. I have worn this to a wedding, and out with Jason over a flannel (see HERE). I think that many people would have never thought to look at American Eagle Outfitters for this jacket and honestly had I not been a college kid who needed lower costing jeans and killer hoodies I might have never look either.
The jeans were for years the only jeans that really fit my body shape so that kept me coming back and kept AE on my bookmarked sites on my laptop and one of the stores in the mall I always ran in "really quick" to see what they had.

We have the same body shape, and I wear jeans that are similar to those with everything too. I love the navy jacket (& AE).

You know, I also love AE for their jeans. It's interesting because I'm clearly not their target demographic (25, tall, not skinny) but they fit me so well! I really should check out some of their other clothes - this jacket looks amazing! I would have worn it the exact same way :)
ReplyDeleteYou look great in that jacket and it's a cool color. I'm a frequent shopper of Zara, Mango, Stradivarius. I also do enjoy shopping tops, jeans and shorts from American Eagle Outfitters.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great jacket - I especially love the rhinestone detailling on the shoulders. AE is one of those stores that I find to be full of surprises. They're known for hoodies and jeans, but every season there are a few pieces that are just so stylish, this jacket clearly being one of them! I love the way you dressed it to really suit your style, although you could easily have dressed it way up, too! Personally, I like it when stores are on my radar but not others - as a fashion blogger, its not always easy to be really unique!

Gotta love a look that starts with a plain white T! I really love how that jacket looks with the flannel shirt too. Pieces that can be repurposed into different looks and styles are the best purchases (I dislike anything too "fad" or gimmicky). I'm big on online shopping so I'm not very loyal to any store or brand in particular anymore :) With that in mind, I often shop through Zara and ASOS because of their variety, prices and free shipping.

This jacket is awesome! It's very flattering on you. I love that you wore it to a wedding. That means you have dressed it up and down. Those are the best pieces, you get more for your buck. The jeans look great too!!

Girl has style! Love that jacket Tyne, the length is very flattering. I have noticed that you wear a lot of AE clothes. I don't really have a go to store or brand. I have a hodge podge collection. My biggest issue is sizing so if it fits, I'll take it, regardless of the brand! xoxox
