I was recently received a very rude email asking why I would wear cheap American Eagle clothing! I would like to say anyone who says American Eagle clothing is cheap take a good look at this cardigan! I have worn it often since 2008! I used to wear it damn near daily and it is still in perfect condition! Just as oversized and perfect as it was the day I bought it in November of 2008. Furthermore I believe that it is the woman who makes the clothing not the clothing that makes the woman. With confidence and class a woman can take on the world!
Anyway I love this scarf! It is actually a prayer shawl but whatever. I bought it from from my old job at CITYOGA here in Indy but you can buy your own from HERE! When we had first gotten in these scarfs the only one I liked really was this dark color and my manager Jahana snapped it up for her mother. UGH!!!! WTF man!!! But I told her to order more and she did so I bought my own! YAY! I bought it on my last shift at the end of November 2012! Talk about meant to be right!
Lastly how freaking HUGE are my eyeballs! Like seriously contacts could not be any easier to pop in my eyes!
Do you think the clothes make the woman or the woman makes the clothes?

I love that scarf! I just looked it up, they only have it in red now :/ I think it works both ways - for me, sometimes the clothes win and sometimes I win :)
ReplyDeleteSince when is American Eagle cheap? LOL That was rude of her/him, not everyone has the money to spend on high-end trendy clothing. Anyway, it doesn't matter where you get your clothes it's how you work it! And you my dear look adorable, I like this outfit, and the sweater looks comfy.
ReplyDeleteI like that, I'm definitely with you on that--"it is the woman that makes the clothing and not the clothing that makes the woman." I strongly believe that personal style trumps over excessive use of designer brands.
ReplyDeleteWhoa! I can't believe the audacity of some people! I agree it's the woman that makes the clothes, it's all about how you pull it off. I love the look and that scarf is cool.
ReplyDeletep.s I like the changes you made to the blog. Looks fresh!
OMG! People are so rude. I think you dress cute. I could care less about the name brand of clothing people as long as it is clean and looks good on them.

That's crazy - anyone who would ask why you would wear a particular label obviously doesn't understand what makes true style. Labels mean nothing, and the easiest a to lose your sense of who you are and what you love in fashion is to get caught up in who made your clothes! End rant :) I love the way you styled this cardigan. In my opinion, a good scarf makes a great outfit!
ReplyDeletexox,

dang, someone asked why you wear AE clothes? Did you tell them that Fran loves their jeans? I mean, they should obviously know that.
ReplyDeletebhaha kidding of course. but AE does come out with some great stuff. What a strange email.
I'm surprised someone asked you why you wear their clothes. You're right, clearly they're well made if the cardigan is still in good shape after a lot of wear over the years. I would say that their stuff is better made than a lot of other stores. I love the prayer shawl... I'd never heard that term used before.
ReplyDeleteIn response to your question: I think the woman can make the clothes, not the other way around... but women can use clothing to reflect who they are... not simply opting out. (I wonder if that sentiment comes from watching a lot of What Not to Wear.)
