Cold Sleepy Friday

sweater: H&M

On Friday February 1st 2013 I woke early and decided to braced the cold and head to campus today.  I just received a lot of information on upcoming assignments so I wanted to flush those out more and accomplish some work. Oh the glorious joys of graduate school (why do I do this to myself???)!

Anyway upon entering the Campus (bauhaus inspired) Center I headed straight for Starbucks to warm myself up with a large coffee and some calorie free sweeter (yuck city right?)! Now I know many of you are like "Well if you think it is so gross why add it to your coffee?" Well I have been on a mostly raw/healthy diet kick lately and have lost a lot of weight already so I'll be darn if I am just going to throw all that away on tasty coffee...even though I like live off the stuff.

Anywhoooo so I'm in the cafe and I set down to work and besides a few annoying gals I realized I was still freezing! Like the heat wasn't on freezing. So I packed my goods and headed over to a different location that was non the quieter. Once I realized I had accomplished about all I was going to I departed for home (after being on campus hours and hours). But before leaving I snapped a few photos of the interior for you guys. Now this isn't all of the Campus Center (and it is normally INSANELY packed with people) but I figured well while I'm here. I also thought the lighting was pretty.

I guess I did work on my first novel a bit while on campus but...yeah I'm not really ready to share that with the world yet so I wont even talk about it.

The best thing happened later Friday night! Vanisha, Clare and I all meet up on Skype to chat about life and catch up with one another because all of our lives have been so insane right now. Honestly I was really nervous about it and what they would think of me...then I realized these two beautifully amazing women have been reading my blog and chatting with me on twitter...They know what their in for. It seriously was the best time! So thank you Clare and V for that treat!

How did you guys spend your Friday / Saturday?

  1. You're so right the lighting is perfection! I love little peeks into people's everyday lives, and good for you on the weight loss! Send some motivation to the rest of us girl.

  2. Congrats on the health kick! I used to use brown sugar and milk in my coffee until I was 20. One morning I ran out of sugar and ever since then I've just been using milk in my coffee. I guess it's just something that you just get used to. (p.s. I read that a few of those sweetener companies conduct horrifying tests on animals. You may want to look into that!)

  5. Aw, how fun that you three ladies had a skype date, it's always really cool to meet up with blogger friends, even if it can't be in person :) Hope grad school is going well so far, and I'd love to hear more about this health kick you're on! {Although I admit, calorie free sweetener doesn't sound like much fun, it's totally worth it to feel good :D}

  7. Just the thought of getting together with bloggers has my heart a racing, so I can understand your nervousness about Skyping. It's great that there's this technology now that lets people "meet" that don't even live on the same continent though! I suggest a warm bath when feeling that cold, works for me.
